Unlock Your Career as a Diet Technician!

After not getting into a Dietetic Internship Christopher Mills MPH, NDTR, CSCS thought his nutrition career was over. However, in 2010 he was offered a second opportunity through the NDTR credential. He soon rejoined the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics as a credentialed professional and his career took off.

The networking and resources from the Academy helped him dive into sports nutrition, allowed him to become the recipient of the 2021 recognized Nutrition and Dietetics Technician of the Year Award with the Arizona Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and helped him find his current position as a Lecturer at University of Arizona: School of Nutritional Sciences & Wellness.

Thank you, Marie Lorraine and Chris!

I often do feel invisible as an NDTR. Others here have let their credential go because they feel better represented by other professional organizations. Out of my class of six, all graduated, none are using their degree. In my community, our program was eliminated.

Thankfully, I watch your interviews and see there are growing trends and needs for NDTRs around the US. I am grateful. I worked hard to get here.

Oh wow, I am sorry to hear that. I am glad you are holding on to yours. I know how frustrating it can be to feel like there are no NDTR’s around. It has been exciting to see this credential grow. I believe it will continue to grow!

I do not think you are alone in feeling that way. Sometimes just knowing there are other NTDTs out there can be super motivating. Thank you for your comment.
